——Non-contact Operation Technology Preserves Cultural Heritage, Pioneering a New Paradigm in Ancient Architecture Restoration

At the wooden tower repair site in China, a LEAD SKYLIFT 8m micro mast platform is slowly rising into the sky. Different from traditional scaffolding, this equipment is designed with millimeter level positioning accuracy and zero ground pressure, allowing craftsmen to accurately complete the repair of arch of wooden architecture without touching the tower body. This is one of the few projects in China that applies micro mast platforms to the repair of national key cultural heritage sites, shortening the construction period by 40% and reducing the risk of damage to cultural relics to zero.

Ⅰ、 Pain Point Cracking: The 'Dilemma' of Ancient Architecture Restoration

1. Ancient buildings are mostly made of wooden structures or load-bearing walls made of bricks and stones. Traditional repairs rely on manual scaffolding, which poses three major challenges:

① Structural damage risk: Steel pipe supports are prone to pressure damage to ancient bricks and scratches on painted areas;

② Insufficient accuracy: high-altitude positioning error exceeds 5 centimeters, affecting fine repair;

③ Low efficiency: A single dismantling and installation takes 7-15 days, accounting for over 30% of the overall construction period.

2. The LEAD SKYLIFT technology team, in collaboration with cultural heritage experts, has developed the LS-M8 micro mast platform to address the aforementioned pain points, achieving breakthroughs through three major innovations:

① Non contact operating system: The machine adopts an environmentally friendly and harmless new material telescopic arm. If used together with a professional laser rangefinder, it can ensure a safe distance of 0.5 meters between the operating platform and the surface of the cultural relic, avoiding physical contact;

② Micro level leveling technology: hydraulic support legs automatically compensate for ground settlement, platform horizontal error ≤ 0.1 °, meeting the accuracy requirements for color painting repair;

③ Modular quick installation design: The equipment can be assembled in 2 hours, which is 80% faster than scaffolding, and can pass through narrow doors (with a passage width of ≥ 0.8 meters).

Ⅱ、 Actual Test Data: From "Extensive Repair" to "Precision Medicine"

In the renovation of the second floor of the wooden tower, the LEAD SKYLIFT mast aerial work platform completed three key tasks:

1. Repair of arch of wooden architecture group: carry craftsmen to precisely locate 127 mortise and tenon joints, and the average operation time decreases from 45 minutes/place to 30 minutes/place;

2. Color painting monitoring: Combined with the multispectral camera carried by the drone, the collection of disease maps on the outer facade of the tower is completed, with a data integrity rate of 89%;

3. Weathering assessment: Using the laser scanner installed on the platform, a millimeter level 3D model is generated to provide a digital basis for subsequent protection.

This is the first deep collaboration between cultural relic restoration and engineering machinery, "said the chief engineer of the project." The LEAD SKYLIFT platform truly implements the principle of 'minimal intervention'.

Ⅲ、 Social Value: A 'High-Altitude Operation Plan' to Safeguard the Memory of Civilization

With the emphasis on "authenticity protection" in the "Management Measures for the Protection and Restoration of Cultural Relic Buildings", LEAD SKYLIFT has provided equipment support for 12 cultural heritage sites around the world:

1. Suzhou Garden Intangible Cultural Heritage Palace: Clean the gold brick ceiling on a 6-meter platform to prevent acid leakage and corrosion;

2. Gansu Desert Stone Carving: Customized explosion-proof material mast platform participated in the restoration of famous Buddha statues, certified by relevant institutions;

3. Quanzhou Ancient Ship Site: Multi purpose Mast Platform Helps with Non Land Cultural Relic Restoration, Fearless of Water Vapor and Moisture.

We not only provide equipment, but also customize protection plans for each cultural relic, "emphasized the LEAD SKYLIFT product manager." From the wooden towers in Shanxi to the sunken ships in the South China Sea, the diversity of Chinese heritage requires continuous technological evolution.
